Behind the scenes
The Eye of Alume is not a retrieval story. It is a defence. A village turned upside down, a couple who will not give the artifact up. Mbonge is the ground. The mercenaries are the weather.
Process
Mbonge, now. Chaos is not ancient. The mercenaries are already in the lanes.
Kwangi paints what Kwangsi must carry. Culture as armour, not as costume.
They protect the Eye at all cost. The film is what that sentence actually asks.
